Scalp

“scalp [skalp] –verb (used with object)

a. to resell (tickets, merchandise, etc.) at higher than the official rates.

b. to buy and sell (stocks) so as to make small quick profits.”

This is the fastest way to earn coins in UT. Here are some tactics:

.

BUY… DISCARD

Gold player cards are always worth at least 300 coins when discarded – even more when the player rating >75. Rare (shiny) gold cards are worth at least 600 coins.

Some people put their gold cards on sale for less than that. On the search screen, filter for Gold players and Max Price = 200. Now bid 250 on everything you can (550 for rare golds). You’ll find you win a lot of the cards at this price. Go to your watch list and DISCARD all your new cards and realize 20%+ returns!

Using this strategy you can make roughly 6x coins per hour as playing matches.

.

SPECIALIZE

People pay too much or sell players for too little because they don’t know the going rate for their cards. Find a high-demand area (Barclay’s League / Spanish players, contracts, formation cards, etc) and learn the prices these cards go for. Buy them at the bottom of their price range or below, then resell them at the top of their normal price range.

You will run across amazing deals in this way – I found a David Villa  for 30k and a Cambiasso buy-it-now for 150, among others. If there is no BIN and it comes down to last second bidding, wait until the 15 second mark before placing your bid. This gives the previous bidder less time to notice and respond.

Lastly, remember: always find deals at least less than 5% what you plan on reselling for. That’s the commission charged on all auctions.

.

CAMP AT THE HOUR MARK

The best buy-it-now deals always disappear the quickest. To get in prime position, filter your search function for gold players (you can narrow it further if you want… ‘Barclay’s League only’, for example) then ‘Min Buy It Now = 150′, and set the max buy it now to something reasonable like 4500 (or higher if you’re going for a rare one). Now page through the results until you get to the 1hr remaining area. Continue refreshing / paging back and forth as people release new cards into the market place. You’ll find some great deals. When in doubt, check a player’s price range!
