The Ultimate Guide to Coins & Pricing

Supply & Demand

The market for UT cards is constantly changing. Here are some tips to anticipate those changes and profit:

MORE CARDS = CHEAPER PRICES

This statement may seem obvious, but consider the causes. When EA holds a 50% sale on gold packs, people end up buying many more. This increases the number of gold cards circulating the market and brings prices down on even rare players. We saw this happen on the $0.99 premium pack sale. This can be a good time to buy cards you need.

.

MORE COINS = HIGHER PRICES

The fastest I’ve seen prices move upward (on PSN… I don’t play XBox so I didn’t witness glitch pricing) was when the St. Patrick’s tournament was giving out 10k coins to the winner. More coins chasing the same amount of player cards will lead to higher card prices. This is a great time to unload cards in your trade pile, but hold off making any big purchases.

.

INVEST IN “FORM” PLAYERS

When players are “in form” (higher rated versions of the same player), there are a surge of form players that hit the trade market at once. The week in which they’re released is the best time to buy them and can make a great investment. Once their one-week release stops, fewer and fewer of the form versions reach the trade market as people add them to their team. In short, the demand for these form players stays constant but their supply slowly dries up.

Here’s form players I grabbed and what they sell for now:

89 Xavi – 55k –> 90k

89 Ramos – 40k –> 75k

89 Arteta 45k –> 70k

Following this pattern I decided to buy 5 form-Taiwos at 20-25k recently. Already they’re up to 30-40k!
